Murphy River Walk is a wonderful 3 mile walking trail that starts in Konehete Park and follows the Hiwassee River and Valley Riverwhich meet and surround the historic town center of Murphy NC. Along the walk way there are picnic areas with BBQ grills, fishing pier that protrudes out over the river, as well as swings that are placed under the shaded trees which allow you sway back and forth and enjoy the wildlife and soothing sounds of the river going by....
Come visit our great town, just minutes from lakes, trout streams, hiking trails, kayaking or white water rafting through the Nantahala Gorge. Enjoy hometown cooking in the quaint cafe's or simply browse in the one of many antique and craft shops. Just 2 hours from Atlanta, Chattanooga and Asheville, Murphy NC feels like it's from a different time and place. A time when life moved at a slower pace and people savored the simple pleasures.
